Criminal case instituted in relation to invasion of Zhoghovurd newspaper's editorial office
The investigation division of the Investigative Committee in the Kentron and Nork-Marash Administrative Districts of Yerevan is leading an investigation to find out all the circumstances of the attempt of theft from the editorial office of Zhoghovurd Armenian newspaper and obstruction of the lawful professional activities of a journalist, as reported the news service of the Investigative Committee of Armenia. Today at 11:44, the editor-in-chief of Zhoghovurd daily newspaper sounded an alarm about theft in the editorial office. According to preliminary data, today, between 00:30 and 10:20, an unknown person, by use of technical means, opened the window of the editorial office’s balcony, illegally entered the office and tried to steal, but failed to commit the crime due to circumstances beyond control. The police instituted a criminal case under articles of the Criminal Code (attempt of theft in particularly large amounts and obstruction of lawful professional activities of journalist), and the case has been forwarded to the investigation division of the Investigative Committee in the Kentron and Nork-Marash Administrative Districts and has been accepted for proceedings. Preliminary investigation is underway, and measures are being taken to establish all the circumstances of the case and detect the person(s) having committed the prima facie crime.
