Armenia Ombudsman receives US Ambassador
Human Rights Defender of Armenia Arman Tatoyan received today US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia Lynne Tracy, as reported the Office of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia. The Ombudsman congratulated the Ambassador on assuming the diplomatic mission and highly appreciated the cooperation with the US Embassy in Armenia and the programs being carried out with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the fight against corruption and reforms in the judiciary and touched upon the activities being carried out for the protection of women’s rights. They also attached importance to work in the provinces and underscored the importance of the engagement of young people. Lynne Tracy attached importance to the role of the Human Rights Defender in the implementation of democratic reforms and human rights protection in Armenia.
